5th June 2016 - Booking Form |
The first matches of the Spring League 2016 will be in the week of 7th March. The deadlines for submitting nominations and informing us of additional players will be:
The process for the above will be as follows: Clubs with one team
Clubs with multiple teams
No additional players can be added after the 9th March deadline unless they are new to the Tyne and Wear league – for example someone who moves into the area but is already affiliated via their club in their previous location. If you affiliate any new players please email the Competition & Affiliation Secretaries stating the players name and the team you are nominating them to. Note: If you do not inform the Competition Secretary of the nominated team of any new affiliated player they will be nominated to the team who they first take the court for in the league! Contact Emails: Competition Secretary – [email protected] Affiliations Secretary – [email protected] Following the completion of another booking we can now have the courts at Blue Flames from 6.30 on a Tuesday night for the remaining two weeks of the Winter Season - avoiding the 10 finish!
So just to confirm that the matches will look as follows for the remainder of the season - umpiring commitments remain the same just the time has changed: 2nd February
Duty Night – every club will have at least one duty night during the season. If you have more than one team you may have two or more.
Shared Duty Nights – teams playing on a Tuesday night will have one Duty Night and a shared Duty Night. If you are sharing a Duty Night please speak to the other team beforehand so you don’t both turn up to do the same half. Every team will have one less match than the number of teams in their division – if you are in a division of 10 teams you will have 9 matches, etc.. Please find all your matches at the start of the season and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any problems finding them. Every team will have the same number of umpiring commitments as matches. Your umpiring commitments will nearly always be on the same night as your match but not necessarily on the same court. The exception to this will be Divisions 1 and 2 where umpiring commitments may be on different nights to avoid clashes. Remember that if you are allocated to provide the umpire for a match involving a team from your club you must supply a neutral umpire – please don’t rely on being able to swap on the night as that isn’t always possible. League Rules – please read these and ensure your captains are familiar with them. Captains should carry a copy with them (or their handbook) for reference. Most rules have to be applied on the night and can’t be applied to a match retrospectively. So if there are issues it is important that you raise them with the Umpires on the night so they can take appropriate action if they feel it is appropriate and in line with the League Rules. Umpires – please ensure that all the umpires in your club have a copy of the League Rules. Again they should carry a copy with them (or their handbook). The application of most league rules is the responsibility of the officials on the night. Cancellation of matches – remember that under the League Rules if you cancel a match and don’t offer a friendly you are automatically liable to a monetary fine. Result and team sheets for all the teams in your club were handed to your representative at the AGM. If you have more than one team don’t forget to pass their sheets on to them! Results and Information - www.tyneandwearnetball.co.uk. Fixtures, general information, tables and results will be posted on the website so please make your club members are aware of the address. If you spot a mistake with a result please let me know asap. Liz Wisniewski [email protected] ![]() From this years Spring League 2016, all umpires are required to successfully complete the bleep test to a minimum level of 4.1. The bleep test must be completed in the presence of a committee member prior to umpiring in any league game, please bare this in mind when teams are requesting umpires following the release of the spring fixtures.
