The EN Membership Dept. will then check that the individuals meet the criteria and will process them in MyNet. The Taster Rate Application forms will be available to download from Friday 6th March 2015 on the EN website. In addition to the Taster Rate Forms each participant must complete an EN Registration Form that is relevant to their age. These are also available to download from the same page of our website. Your Region and/or County may add a levy in addition to the EN Taster Rate fees ![]() The Tyne and Wear Umpiring Seminars for this season will take place on Wednesday 25th February and Wednesday 4th March. They will both be at Blue Flames. Starting time is now confirmed to be 7pm. All umpires must attend one of these seminars or they will not be eligible to umpire in the Spring Season County League. ANYONE is welcome to attend the Seminar regardless of whether they umpire, coach or just play. Improving everyone’s knowledge of the rules of the game can only help to improve the quality of netball on the court. The seminars will cover the rules of the game and also clarify some local league rules which have raised issues over the winter season. Please note the following: All Umpires officiating in T&W County Leagues must attend a seminar each season to ensure that they are continuing to develop and perform at the level expected and also to provide support and help for them. Trainee umpires or those considering training to be umpires are also recommend to attend. Umpires should bring along their rules book, a pen and paper but they won’t need their whistles! Clubs who do not have a practising Umpire within their ranks are expected to send a representative who can take information and knowledge back into their clubs. Coaches may also attend so they can hear first hand, the guidance on umpiring which is being communicated. If you have any specific queries which you would like discussed on the night (these can be concerned with the rules of the game or county league rules) please email them to the League Secretary at [email protected]. ![]() Tyne and Wear Sport has launched the Club Bursary Scheme with the aim of providing clubs with the opportunity to increase and retain new participants and improve the current situation within their club. Riverside Netball Club is one of hundreds of groups who applied for an award during this round of the scheme and impressed judges with their plans to use their grant to make a difference to their group and benefit the local community.
The group plans to use its award to purchase New Kit for their u14 squad. Lynne Booth of Riverside Netball Club said: “We are very pleased with our BT Sport People Award. We have 8 junior squads to cater for and for the U14s to have a kit of their own will be tremendous and the girls are really excited.” Tori Brady, a GCS Transformation Manager who volunteers at the club and nominated them for a BT Sport People Award, added: “I have been a volunteer at Riverside Netball Club for six years now. We are always low on resources and funding is hard to come by. The BT Sport People Awards provides a great opportunity for community groups like ours to get some additional help that can make a huge difference. The new kit will have a big impact on the activities run by the club. It is very positive that BT recognises the voluntary work of its people and supports local community activities in this way.” Four hundred and fifty one applications were received for this round of grants and 84 applicants received awards totalling £50,980. Applications were submitted by BT people from all over the world, including Peru, India and Belgium. These included a wide range of community organisations, from football clubs to police cadets to red squirrel protection, illustrating the wide variety of activities in which BT people are involved.
